CAIRO – 1 March 2018: Milan defeated Lazio on penalties at the Italian Cup’s semi final on Wednesday night to reach the Italian Cup’s final.

After a goalless draw at the regular time and extra time, AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma saved three penalties from Milinkovic-Savic, Lucas Leiva and Luiz Felipe to lead his team to the final.

“The whole team deserves credit for this win because we all played a great game. We worked so hard to reach the final, we deserved it. This is a fantastic group. We are more compact now, it’s harder to beat us,” Donnarumma told Milan TV after the victory.

Milan will face Juventus who defeated Atalanta 1-0 earlier on Sunday thanks to a goal from a penalty by Miralem Pjanić.

“We're in the final and that's one of the goals we set ourselves this season. I think the whole team deserves credit for what we've done so far,” Pjanić told the club’s official website after the victory.

Juventus hopes to achieve their 13th Italian Cup title and their fourth title in a row while Milan hopes to achieve their sixth title and their first title since 2003.

The game is scheduled on May 9 at Stadio Olimpico, Rome.
