CAIRO – 15 February 2018: Zamalek board member Ismail Youssef and the team’s marketing manager, Sherif Eslam, travelled to Kuwait on Thursday morning to attend the opening of Zamalek’s first academy in the Gulf.

Zamalek has a huge fan base in the Gulf and the club decided to open this academy to connect the club with the fans there. Zamalek also has a plan to open other academies in more Gulf countries.

Ismail Youssef spoke before his trip to Kuwait about Zamalek’s victory over Wadi Degla on Wednesday in the Egyptian League, saying, “The team regained their personality on the pitch under the new manager, Ihab Galal. We have many talented players and I think they need to concentrate more to improve.”

Zamalek defeated Wadi Degal 1-0 thanks to a late goal from Kasongo Kabongo, who granted Zamalek the victory.

Zamalek trained on Thursday morning without their Syrian left back, Moayad El Aggan, who suffered a small knee injury.

Zamalek will play against Petrojet on Monday, February 19 against Petrojet.
