CAIRO – 26 January 2018: Nour Al-Sherbini won the fourth Grand Slam title in the Squash J.P Morgan Tournament of Champions in New York State after beating her compatriot Nour Al Tayeb.

Nour Al-Sherbini, ranked world number one, managed to comeback after losing (2-1), ending the game (3-2). The scores of the five sets were 2-11, 11-6, 4-11, 11-7, 11-7 in a 56-minute match.

Al-Sherbini won the championship for the second time after the 2016 edition and the third time in the history of Egypt.

El Sherbini, meanwhile, has extended her lead on the women’s standings to 105 points over World Champion Raneem El Welily and El Tayeb, who sit in joint 2nd.

At the men's competition, Tarek Moamen was the runner-up in the final match against the German player Simon Rösner.

Germany's Simon Rösner won the title as the first German to win a major squash championship with a 3-1 win over Tarek Moamen (11-8, 11-9, 6-11, 11-5).

Egypt's men and women are preparing to compete at the Windy City Open in Chicago on February 22-28 in the fifth major tournament this season.
