CAIRO – 22 January 2018: Manchester United have announced on Monday that Alexis Sanchez have signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the club. Sanchez joined United in swap with Henrick Mkhitaryan who joined Arsenal.

“I am very proud to be the first Chilean player ever to play for United’s first team and I hope I can show our fans all around the world why the club wanted to bring me here,” Sanchez told Manchester United’s official website after signing his contract.

Sanchez became the first transfer from Arsenal to Manchester United since Robin Van Persie’s transfer to United in 2012.

Mkhitaryan spoke to Arsenal’s website after signing his contract; “I’m very happy that we could finish this deal and I’m very happy to be here. It’s a dream come true because I’ve always dreamed of playing for Arsenal.”

Sanchez has been the main talk in the transfer window as he has been linked with a move to Manchester City but at the end he decided to join the red side of the city to play under Manchester United’s manager, Jose Mourinho.
