CAIRO – 7 January 2018: Usain Bolt, a retired Jamaican sprinter, wants to be a professional footballer and aspires to go straight to the big leagues.

The Jamaican athlete plans to take a test organized by the sports sponsor “Puma”, with Borussia Dortmund in March, but his desire is to play for Manchester United.

Bolt, in an interview with the Sunday Express, revealed that he recently spoke with former Manchester United coach Alex Ferguson to ask him for help in signing with United.

“One of my biggest dreams is signing for Manchester United,” said Bolt in an interview conducted during the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, adding, “I talked to Alex Ferguson about that and he said if I get in shape, he'll see what he can do.”

The Jamaican has not hidden his ambitions that he has held for a long time, saying that he believes that he would be ready if the opportunity finally comes.

“Succeeding as a footballer is not impossible,” he affirmed with great vigor.

The first step will take place next March as he will perform some tests with Borussia Dortmund, taking advantage of the fact that they share the same sponsor.

“That will determine what I can do. If they tell me that I am good, that I have capabilities, that I need a little training; I will do it,” he says.

“I watch a lot of football, I like it. I think I understand, I think that with the right training I could be good,” he explained.
