Mohamed el-Shorbagy and Raneem el-Welily won their first World titles

CAIRO – 17 December 2017: Egyptian squash player Mohamed el-Shorbagy won the AJ Bell title after he beat his brother Marwan el-Shorbagy (3-2) on the evening of December 17, at the final of the PSA Squash World Championships in the men’s competition in Manchester, England.

It was a big match between the two brothers, as Mohamed succeeded to win the first two sets and then Marwan won the third and fourth game to equal Mohamed.

Mohamed decided the game in the fifth set to win his first World Championship in history as he was never crowned the victor before.

Shorbagy places second in the world squash rankings, after he had a great season by achieving four titles out of five held this season.

Meanwhile, the final of the women’s competitions was also held where Raneem el-Welily crowned the title after she beat Nour el-Sherbiny, ranked first worldwide, (3-1) on Sunday.
Welily achieved her first World Championship title in her history.
