CAIRO – 3 December 2017: Chelsea manager Antonio Conte praised Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata after they led Chelsea to defeat Newcastle United 3-1 on Saturday.

“Today, Eden and Alvaro showed a good link and a lot of combination play. I am happy,” Conte told press after the game.

Newcastle opened the scoring after 12 minutes by Dwight Gayle, but minutes later Eden Hazard equalized the score. Morata scored Chelsea’s second goal in the game minutes before the first half whistle.
Hazard added his second goal in the game, and Chelsea’s third, 15 minutes before the final whistle through a penalty.

Conte praised Hazard, saying, “I think he enjoys playing this type of game. He is an important player, as we can change our system.”

Conte spoke about the way Hazard scored his penalty, stating, “The most important thing to do is score it and then decide which way you want to kick it. Next time he must have great attention, as the goalkeeper will study the players that take the penalties. For me, the most important thing is to score.”

Chelsea reached 32 points to be in third place behind Manchester United and Manchester City.
