CAIRO – 8 November 2017: Farhad Moshiri, Everton's top shareholder, is looking for a coach and, according to Sky Sports, his main candidate is Diego Simeone, Atletico Madrid`s coach.

After the dismissal of Ronald Koeman, David Unsworth has taken over the team on an interim basis, but the owner of the English club is looking for a prestigious coach for a long-term project.

Moshiri has a shortlist of candidates, which includes Sam Allardyce, Watford coach Marco Silva and Simeone, who seems to be his priority.

However, it is unlikely that the Argentinean will leave Atletico Madrid mid-season, as he recently extended his contract until 2020.

Moshiri is willing to make a strong investment to put Everton at the height of the Premier League greats, and he wants Simeone to lead his new project.

Meanwhile, Sam Allardyce's representatives have met with Everton to negotiate the possibility of the former England coach taking the reins of the team until the end of the season.

Allardyce, who left Crystal Palace for health reasons six months ago, wants a long-term contract, but the Toffees, Everton’s nickname, only proposed an agreement until the end of the season.
