CAIRO – 20 October 2017: Gordon Hayward, the new forward of the Boston Celtics, became the NBA’s sad protagonist of the day.

The team had not gone six minutes into the game when Hayward fell down after bumping into LeBron James.

Hayward broke down, and his screams echoed all over the track. He had broken his leg.

After seeing Hayward’s ankle, Dwayne Wade from Cavaliers knelt down, put his hand to his head and prayed as the team doctors attended to check the Celtics’ player.

Cavaliers’ and Celtics’ doctors examined Hayward in the locker room and announced it was an ankle fracture, according to CBS Sports.

Then Brad Stevens pointed out that Hayward had dislocated his ankle and suffered a tibia fracture.

On July 2017, the Celtics signed Hayward, a 27-year-old, with a $128 million, four-year contract. His downfall leaves the Celtics out of the way and is likely to be a team with maximum aspirations for the title. Hayward might have said goodbye to the season.
