CAIRO – 13 October 2017: German midfielder Shkodran Mustafi will be off between four and six weeks due to a hamstring injury suffered by his national team in the match against Azerbaijan, Arsene Wenger confirmed on Thursday.

Mustafi, 25, was injured in the 36th minute on Sunday's encounter against the Azerbaijani team (5-1) corresponding to the last day of the UEFA qualifying round for the 2018 World Cup.

"We have lost Mustafi for four or six weeks," Wenger said at the pre-match press conference against Watford on Thursday. "I do not think he can be ready before the next set of matches," he added.

Mustafi, in the ranks of the Arsenal since August 2016 - came from Valencia for £ 35 million - will lose league games against Watford (14 October), Everton (22 October), Swansea (28 October) and Manchester City (5 November), in addition to the League Cup match against Norwich (24 October) and the two European League matches against Crvena Zvezda (19 October and 2 November).

Another player who ended up 'touched' in the match with his midweek selection was Bosnian side Sead Kolasinac, who was replaced at the break in the 2-1 win over Estonia last Tuesday.

"We have a problem with Sead and today we will see how he is. He is 'touched' in the hip," said the French coach.
