CAIRO – 8 October 2017: Egyptian national team managed to reach the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia for the first time since 1990 after beating Congo 2-1 at Borg El Arab Stadium on Sunday.
All the match’s goals came in the second 45 minutes; as Liverpool star Mohamed Salah scored the two goals for Egypt, while midfielder Francisco Román, Congo’s only goal.
The Pharaohs collected 13 points from five matches against Congo, Ghana and Uganda, sending the Egyptian team to the World Cup finals.
