CAIRO – 7 October 2017 – FIFA’s official Twitter account sees Egypt has a large chance to qualify to the World Cup through the next match against Congo on Sunday at Borg El Arab Stadium.

The official account of FIFA on Twitter highlighted Uganda's draw with Ghana without goals in the fifth round of African qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup, which will take place in Russia. The match was held on the Nelson Mandela Stadium in the Ugandan capital, Kampala.

FIFA has highlighted the opportunity of the Egyptian team to reach the 2018 Russian World Cup, as the Pharaohs need to just win the Congolese team in the match held at 7 p.m. Cairo local time at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria to ensure participation in the World Cup after a 28-year absence.

Egypt is now leading Group E with nine points from four matches, as the national team won in three matches against Uganda, Ghana and Congo and lost in one occasion only against Uganda at Kampala. The team now has a big chance to reach the World Cup after Ghana and Uganda drew on Saturday, so if Egypt won against Congo, it will qualify directly to the World Cup regardless of its result with Ghana in the last round.
