CAIRO – 2 October 2017: It was a difficult situation on Sunday in Catalonia’s capital, Barcelona, as Catalans went to vote for their independence which is prohibited by the Spanish government.

The situation caused many conflicts between the police and the people in Catalonia which left many injuried, but three people from Australia were hurt in another way.

An Australian family booked tickets three months ago to visit Barcelona to watch the game in Camp Nou and to achieve their dream of watching Neymar Jr da Silva’s magic on the field.

They were disappointed when in July they knew they wouldn’t be able to watch Neymar’s magic as the player left the club to join Paris Saint-Germain but at least they were happy to live the experience of Barcelona’s game.

But the situation in Barcelona forced the club to face Las Palmas on Sunday behind closed doors in their first ever game in the Spanish League to be played without fans attending from start to end.
