CAIRO – 28 September 2017: Real Madrid French defender, Raphael Varane hopes to end his football career with Real Madrid, the French told press after signing his new contract with the club.

“It would be magnificent to retire at Real Madrid, I want to enjoy this moment and continue wearing this shirt.” Varane told press on Thursday.

Varane added “I am very pleased and this is a very happy day, my Real Madrid story is already very nice and now I want it to become fantastic.”

Varane is a Lens academy product. He joined the club academy when he was nine and got promoted to the youth ranking until he turned 17, when he played his first game with the first team.

Varane spoke about his days in Madrid, he said “I consider myself a bit of a Real Madrid youth graduate because I arrived so young, but I also won't forget my years at Lens, of which I am also proud.”

Varane, 24, joined Real Madrid in 2011 when he was just 18 from his childhood club, Lens. Since then he has become a regular player in Real Madrid’s squad.
