CAIRO – 20 September 2017: Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville believes that Alexis Sanchez has to get back to his form to help his club Arsenal this season.

“Sanchez has always been a hard worker. He needs to get back to doing that for Arsenal first, because they've got big games coming up," Neville told the press on Wednesday.

Neville added, “Sanchez has been distracted at Arsenal for the last six months.”

However, Neville praised Sanchez’s performance with Arsenal, saying, “His career at Arsenal – I couldn't say a bad word about him until two or three months before the end of last season.”

Sanchez wanted to leave Arsenal last summer to join their rivals in the Premier League, Manchester City, but Arsenal’s board refused to let him go. Sanchez’s contract is set to expire in 2018, at which point he will be free to play for other clubs.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger used Sanchez as a substitute in their last match against Chelsea, which ended in a 0-0 draw. He preferred to start with Alex Iwobi and Danny Wellbeck over him.
