Salah scores goal in Liverpool’s draw against Sevilla

CAIRO – 14 September 2017: Liverpool’s first match in the new Champions League season ended with a 2-2 draw against Spanish team Sevilla on Wednesday night at Liverpool’s Castle Anfield.

Liverpool started the game with a solid offense, which consisted of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, the latter who had many chances to score. The first goal came in the 5th minute from Sevilla’s striker Wissam Ben Yedder after a mistake by Liverpool’s defense.

Roberto Firmino succeeded to equalize the score for Liverpool in the 21st minute after a great pass from Alberto Moreno.

Mohamed Salah scored Liverpool’s second goal in the game in the 37th minute after Sevilla’s defense deflected his strike. Firmino had a chance to secure the result for Liverpool, but he missed a penalty, mere seconds before the end of the first half.

Liverpool started the second half trying to secure their victory by scoring the third goal. Coach Jurgen Klopp gave his star Philippe Coutinho the opportunity to participate in his first game in the season to support Liverpool’s offense, but Sevilla striker Joaquin Correa succeeded to score the equalizer for Sevilla in the 72nd minute.

Liverpool defender Joseph Gomez received a red card, only seconds before the final whistle, and Liverpool’s attempts to score the third goal failed, ending the game 2-2.

Mohamed Salah played a great game, until he got substituted with Alex Oxalde Chamberlain, minutes before the final whistle. Who Scored’s rating for Salah after the game was 7.7.
