CAIRO – 24 August 2017: Manchester United announced on its official website the renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic's contract with the club for one more year.

Manchester United published on its website that they are very delighted to announce the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic after he was absent from the field for four months because of an injury, Zlatan will wear jersey number 10 after the departure of Wayne Rooney.

The Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has participated with United in 46 occasions scoring 28 goals in season 2016/2017 until he suffered from a knee injury last April in Europa League’s quarter final match against Anderlecht which ended his season early.

Ibra helped United win the English Super Cup and Europa League.

Manchester United’s Head Coach Jose Mourinho stated on Manchester United’s website: "We are delighted Zlatan is on the road to recovery and we are equally delighted to have his ambition and experience back with us. After his contribution last season, he deserves our trust and we will be patient waiting for him to return. I have no doubt that he will be important in the second part of the season."

Zlatan Ibrahimovic said: "I am back to finish what I started. It was always mine and the club's intention for me to stay. I cannot wait to get back out on that Old Trafford pitch, but I also know that I have to take my time to make sure that I am ready. I have been working hard and will continue to do so to make sure I am in the best possible condition for my return to the pitch."
