CAIRO - 9 August 2017: Watford signed a 5 year contract with English striker Andre Gray from Burnley for a club record fee. Gray transferred from Burnley with a contract worth $24 Million.

“Hello, my name is Andre Gray. I am delighted to have joined Watord and cannot wait to get going.” Gray sent a message to Watford fans through the club’s official Twitter account.

Watford signed Gray only a few days before their first Premier League match against Liverpool on Saturday.

The 26-years-old Gray, “can’t wait to start his new challenge,” he said. “I’ve still got a lot to learn, I feel like a new challenge came at the right time, and there is no better place than Watford.”

Gray played two years at Burnley. He led the club to Premier League promotion in 2016 when he won the Championship player of the year and the Championship top goalscorer with 25 goals. He also scored 10 goals with Burnley in 36 appearances last season.
