Preview: Al Ahly SC vs. Smouha

CAIRO –9 August 2017: Al Ahly SC is set to play against Smouha SC on August 9 in the semi-finals of the Egyptian Cup at Borg Al Arab Stadium.

Both teams will be entering the match looking only for a precious victory in order to reach the final of the tournament.

Hossam El Badry, Al Ahly SC manager, will be entering the match with a 4-2-3-1

formation consisting of the following players:

Goalkeeper: Sherif Ekramy

Defenders: Bassem Ali (right back), Mohamed Naguib, Ramy Rabea as two center backs, Ali Maaloul (left back)

Midfielders: Hossam Ashour and Amr El Sulaya

Attacking midfielders: Ahmed Hammoudi (right), Abdallah El Said (middle), Salah Gomaa (left)

Strikers: Junior Ajayi

Two of Al-Ahly crucial players, Saad Samir and Ahmed Fathy, will not be able to play in the next match. Samir was injured before the game, while Fathy will not play due to receiving too many yellow cards in the previous matches.

The winner of Al-Ahly against Smouha SC match will play against the winner of Zamalek’s match against Al-Masry in the final of the Egyptian Cup.
