Neymar leaves Barcelona

CAIRO - 2 August 2017: Neymar Jr., Brazilian winger, told FC Barcelona his desire to leave the club to join Paris Saint Germain (PSG), which has to pay his release clause to Barcelona.

“The player Neymar Jr, accompanied by his father and agent, has informed FC Barcelona this morning of his decision to leave the Club in a meeting held at the Club’s offices,” Barcelona statement said.

Barcelona refused to negotiate with PSG so Paris has to pay his buy-out clause.

Barcelona statement added “Faced with this position, the Club has informed them they refer to the buy-out clause of his existing contract which as of July 1 totals €222 million ($262 million), which will have to be deposited in its entirety.“

Barcelona talked about Neymar’s situation now, they added “The player remains under contract at FC Barcelona but with temporary permission to not take part in training sessions.”

Neymar, 25 years, joined Barcelona on 2013, he won two Spanish League titles, three Spanish Cups and 2015 Champions League title.
