CAIRO –30 July 2017: Antonio Conte, Chelsea manager, hopes to avoid Chelsea traditional failure in the season following winning the league, Conte told reporters in Singapore.

“Two years ago, the team finished 10th place in the league after winning the league, two coaches were sacked from Chelsea after they won the league, we want to avoid this” Conte told reporters during the pre season Asian tour.

In 2016, Jose Mourinho sacked after multiple losses, he led the team the year before to the Premier League title.

Conte praised his new signing, Alvaro Morata, he said “He is working very well and has been with us only five days. Today, he tried to do his best, but for sure, Morata is starting now and he has to improve,”

Chelsea lost 2-1 to Inter Milan on Saturday in International Champions Cup in Singapore.

Conte signed to manage Chelsea last season, he won the title in his first year in the Premier League.
