CAIRO – 27 July 2017- Zamalek's board of directors decided to cancel Portuguese coach Augusto Inacio’s contract on Thursday.

The contract was terminated after an agreement from both parties that Inacio would be paid half the amount of the penalty clause in the contract, which is equivalent to three months salary.

Inacio's contract with Zamalek states that the Portuguese coach gets LE 760,000 ($42,508) monthly salary and thus he will receive a sum of LE 1,140,000 as per the agreement made, the value of a month and a half.

From his side Inacio confirmed that he had hoped to stay with the team longer and win more tournaments, but in spite of the good periods with Zamalek he faced many difficulties that did not serve him well, Super Kora reported.

The Portuguese added that the meeting with the board of directors held to cancel his contract with Zamalek was conducted in a positive manner in which thanked everyone at the club for working with him.
