CAIRO - 25 July 2017: Marwan Ragab, Egyptian Handball National Team manager, decided on Tuesday to promote six players from U-20 National team to the first team, Egypt prepares to participate in 2018 African Men's Handball Championship in Gabon.

Ragab decided to promote Mohamed Essam, Yehia Khaled, Hadi Soliman, Shady Mahmoud, Abdel Rahman Abdo and Abdel Hamid Sayed after their performance with the U-20 team during Men's Junior World Championship in Algeria.
Egypt U-20 team, coached by Wael Abdel Ati, prepares to face South Korea on Wednesday in President’s Cup to decide the position from 17 to 20.

Egypt played in Group B in the competition, they lost against Slovenia, Sweden, Denmark and France, Egypt only good result in the tournament was a 30-29 victory over Qatar in the last group match.

Egypt won 1993 U-20 Handball World Cup held in Egypt as the best Arab achievement in the competition history, the team included Wael Abdel Ati, Egypt U-20 current coach, Egypt also won the Bronze Medal in 1999 and the fourth place in 2009 and 2015.

Algeria hosts U-20 Handball World Cup from July 18 to 30 for the first time in their history.
