CAIRO - 11 August 2023: Egypt U-19 handball national team faces Denmark on Friday in the semi-finals of the Men's Youth World Championship, held in Croatia.

The Young Pharaohs booked a place in the semi-finals after a heroic win over the Faroe Islands on Thursday after a memorable comeback.

Egypt were three goals behind only 60 seconds before the final buzzer but the pharaohs overcame the impossible to tie the game and achieve victory in the extra-times.

The Egyptians are the defending champions and they hope to put on another solid performance in the competition to seal the final berth.

"Very difficult game against Egypt is in front of us. It is a team that plays with great physicality and high speed, which we must try to match. Again, it will be a match where we have to have the ability to be ready to adapt against many defensive initiatives and strong counterattacks, which could be decisive," the Danish head coach Simon Sorensen stated.

The winner will face the winner between the hosts, Croatia, and Spain in the final.
