CAIRO - 19 July 2017: Smouha won 1-0 over Misr el-Makasa in the Egyptian Cup quarter-finals Tuesday night, qualifying to play against Al-Ahly in the semi-finals.

Both teams started the game trying to score the first goal and gain the upper hand in the game, but players continued to waste chances to score, and the goalkeepers also made great saves, causing the match to end 0-0 in regular time.

The match then went to extra time, with Smouha succeeding to score the only goal in the match with a corner kick by Smouha defender Mahmoud Ezzat.

Misr el-Makasa tried to score the equalizing goal, but their attacking force, Ahmed el-Sheikh and Ahmed Abdel Zaher, failed to help their team return to the match.

Smouha qualified for the Egyptian Cup semi-finals and will play against Al-Ahly on Wednesday, August 9, while Al-Masry will face Zamalek in the other semi-final on the same day.
