Egypt’s national U-21 handball team faces France in Algeria

CAIRO – 19 July 2017: The national U-21 handball team starts its journey in the 2017 Men’s Junior (U-21) World Handball Championship on Tuesday facing France’s national team. The competition will be held in Algeria from July 18-30.

The Pharaohs’ game against the French team will be held at 5 p.m. Cairo local time, and the Egyptian team will conclude their matches on Monday against Qatar. The draw put Egypt in group B, which includes France, Denmark, Slovenia, Sweden and Qatar. Egypt will face Denmark on July 19, Sweden on July 21, Slovenia on July 22 and Qatar on July 24.

The Egyptian delegation is headed by Mostafa Shawky, member of the board of directors of the Egyptian Handball Association; Wael Abdel Aty as the head coach of the team; Mohamed Abdullah as coach; Mohamed Abdel Moneim as administrative director; and Ahmed Akram as physiotherapist.

Meanwhile, the team’s squad list includes 16 players: Mohamed Essam, Mohamed Sobhy, Ahmed Abd El Aziz, Ahmed Hisham, Mohamed Essam Abdel Ghany, Abdel Rahman Aly, Mohab Gamal, Nour El Din Adel, Omar Belal, Youssef Khaled, Shady Mahmoud, Abdel Hamid El Sayed, Yehya Khaled, Abdel Rahman Ahmed, Mo’men Aly and Hady Soliman.
