European scouts in Cairo to watch ‘Capitano Misr’ stars

CAIRO, June 11, 2023: In light of keenness of the Ministry of Youth & Sports and Egypt’s United Media Services to care for the talented calibers and provide all the support and capabilities to develop and improve their skills; a group of senior football scouts in Europe are preparing to come to Cairo early next August, along with a number of coaches and heads of youth sectors in the most famous Spanish clubs such as Barcelona, ​​Atletico Madrid, Rayo Vallecano, Real Betis, Celta Vigo and Real Valladolid, in order to watch the players and stars of the first season of the "Capitano Misr" program.

 

Spanish football representatives are set to choose the most prominent players to travel to Spain and spend a training period with the youth teams affiliated with those clubs.

 

The presence of the scouts in Cairo, accompanied by the heads of the youth sectors in the largest Spanish clubs and the global players’ agent, John Viola, comes within the framework of the cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Youth & Sports and Egypt’s United Media Services with the ‘Showcase’ company headed by Sherif Hegazy.

 

Next August, ‘Showcase’ is preparing to organize the “Showcase Africa & MENA” event to discover talents in football on the Sports city stadium in the New Administrative Capital, with the participation of 500 talents from Egypt and various African countries in the age group between 17 to 23 years.

 

On the other hand, ‘Capitano Misr’ officials are preparing to announce the details and dates of the tests for the second season of the program, which is broadcasted on the Egyptian channels ON and ON TIME SPORTS.

 

‘Capitano Misr’ first season stars continue their training session according to the subject program put by the Program’s technical committee headed by Dr. Mahmoud Saad.

 

The Ministry of Youth & Sports, in cooperation with Egypt’s United Media Services, allocated 7 training centers in 7 different governorates: Cairo, Alexandria, Ismailia, Gharbia, Sharqia, Dakahlia and Assiut, in order to set up training camps for the stars of Capitano Misr, in preparation for their participation during the season youth Egyptian leagues.

 

The Technical committee also allocated a physical trainer and a psychological one in each training center to develop the physical and mental capabilities of the players.

 

The first season of the program was crowned with the title of the “Ali Abu Gerisha” team, led by coach Mohamed Al-Yamani, the former star of the
