CAIRO – 14 July 2017: Martin Jol, Dutch manager and former West Bromwich Albion midfielder, says that the Premier League suits Ahmed Hegazy, Ahly SC and Egyptian international team defender.

Hegazy was Jol’s player in Ahly SC in 2016 and was always named in the first line of Ahly SC with the Dutch manager who left Egypt wining Egyptian Premier League title 2015/16.

“It would be a great opportunity for Hegazy to join my old club” Martin Jol told Egypt Today Friday.

Jol made 64 appearances with West Brom from 1981 to 1984, scored four goals and paired up with Garry Thompson, former striker of West Brom and Aston Villa.

“Of course it is the second time for Hegazy to go abroad, and I’m certain that he has matured now to take this challenge and grab it,” Jol added.

Hegazy played for ACF Fiorentina and AC Perugia Calcio in Italy, and made 14 appearances with both Italian sides in all competitions, scoring only one goal, according to TransferMarkt.

“The Premier League suits Hegazy, he is the type of player who will be successful in the strongest league in the world, but for him it is important to stay fit,” the Dutch former international player said.

“For Hegazy, It’s now Or never, So I would do it. Westbrom is a wonderful club, a real family club” Jol told Egypt Today.
