Atletico Madrid to play against Al Ahly - Reuters
CAIRO – 6 July 2017: Al Ahly received an offer from one of the most elite marketing agencies to face Spanish team Atletico Madrid, on December 30 in a friendly match in the UAE.
The marketing agency chose Al Ahly especially to face one of the biggest teams in Europe, because Al Ahly has a great history with many achievements in African football.
Al Ahly is also the African club of the century, who has a great fan base, and Al Ahly won the most titles among Arab and African clubs.
The Al Ahly board referred the decision on this matter to Al Ahly’s football panel. If they agree, the agency representatives will come to Egypt to complete the agreement.
Atletico Madrid played before against Zamalek in 2011 at Cairo Stadium, when Atletico won 4-1 during the Zamalek centennial celebrations.
Al Ahly is used to playing against big teams in the world in recent years, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Roma, Bayern Munich and Benfica.
Al Ahly prepares to face Cotton Sport in the African Champions League last group match on Saturday.
