CAIRO – 25 May 2017: As Ramadan pays its remarkable annual visit, many can get stuck in the endless loop of thinking about how to achieve the “mission impossible" and keep some of the seemingly-inevitable extra weight off.

Dr. Mostafa el-Beheiry, Physical Therapy and Nutrition Specialist, told Egypt Today that contrary to the prevalent, popular beliefs, Ramadan actually can be the fastest way to shorten your weight loss journey.

Beheiry recommended not to indulge ourselves instantly in a bunch of food all at once. Instead, we can suffice with having two glasses of water and one date at Iftar, yogurt and fruit, or a salad platter, and we would be better off stalling the main meal after performing Maghreb prayer.

The main meal should not also include much of the food which is immersed in buckets of oil and grease. Remember to lower your intake of carbohydrates and sugar.

Likewise, Sohour should not be made of much of fatty and greasy food; instead we can have a dish of beans cooked without oil, cottage cheese and a loaf of flat bread.
Most importantly, Dr. Beheiry stressed that one should consistently maintain an active routine during Ramadan.
