CAIRO – 29 August 2017: Egypt Air has been coordinating with Algerian authorities to operate flights between both countries enabling tourists to visit Egyptian cities in holidays and Eid seasons, the Chairman of Egypt Air Holding Company Safwat Mosalam told the press on Tuesday.

“The company has operated 14 flights since August 14 from Algeria to Sharm El-Sheikh transporting 1,260 tourists, and will continue till September,” Mosalam stated.
In the first half of this year, Arab tourism to Egypt scored its highest rates in seven years, recording a 30 percent increase above its rates in 2010.

According to the numbers given by Mohamed Abdel Gabar, the head of International Tourism sector in the Tourism Development Authority, to Egypt Today, tourism in Egypt witnessed growth, as Arab tourists increased by 19.6 percent reaching 183,800 tourists in 2016.

That growth in Arab tourism was a result of conducting a promotional campaign last year. A similar one was also conducted this year throughout the holy month of Ramadan till Eid al-Fitr.
