CAIRO – 18 August 2017: Egyptians have always had a thing for fashion and dressing up, as many express themselves through style. The public likes to imitate celebrities.

Here are 9 Middle Eastern celebrities that became fashion icons to men this year:

Asser Yassin: Yassin is an Egyptian actor born on February 25, 1981. He graduated from the American University in Cairo with a degree in mechanical engineering. However, he chose to follow his passion for acting and pursued his dream. His first role was in 2006 in a television series called ‘Qalb Habiba.’ He acted has since acted in 11 films and 5 television series.

Amr Diab: Diab, the Egyptian singer, was born on October 11, 1961. According to his Facebook page, his songs have been translated into more than seven different languages. Diab is a six-time winner of the World Music Award.



Rami Malek: Malek is an Egyptian American Actor, he was born on May 12, 1981. He started his career in 2004 as a guest star in the television series ‘Gilmore Girls.’ While in 2006 he landed a role in the ‘Night at the Museum’ film, as Pharaoh Ahkmenrah. However, his debut in 2015 television series ‘Mr. Robot’ earned him a Golden Globe for his role as Elliot Alderson.



Dhafer L'Abidine: L’Abidine, is Tunisian actor who used to be a soccer player. He was born on November 26, 1972. Before his success in the Middle East, he enjoyed his success in the Western films and televison series. He has participated in a couple of Western films such as; Children of Men (2006), Sex and the City 2 (2010), Centurion (2010), Black Forest (2012), Rise of the Footsoldier (UK).

Eyad Nassar: The Jordanian actor was born in 1974, he used to work as teacher before shifting his career to acting.He has worked as an assistant director in many television series. Then he started appearing in popular Syrian series such as ‘A; Amin wal Ma’moun.’ His move to live Cairo to work as an actor saw him staring in the series called ‘Sarket Ontha.’ However, his breaking performance was in the television series ‘Al Gama’a. ’



Karim Kassem: Kassem is an Egyptian actor, he was born on October 8, 1986. He graduated from AUC with an Arts degree. He took several acting workshops in London and Paris, and joined Ahmed Kamal’s acting studio. He acted in more than 12 films and 5 televison series.

Ahmed Hatem: Hatem is an Egyptian actor, born on December 25, 1987. He studied communication for a while and then he took up a couple of acting workshops until he landed his first acting gig, which was in ‘Awqat Faragh’ (Free time) in 2006.

Aly Mazhar: Mazhar is a fitness athlete sports conditioning instructor; he was born on January 15, 1990. He used to play soccer until he got injured, hence his shift into fitness.



Ramy Ashour: Ashour is professional squash player, born on September 30, 1987. He won his first professional title in 2007.
