The Eid break is over, and we bet that just the thought of what will be waiting for you at the office tomorrow might give you a bit of a shiver down your spine. We know that the sudden shift in the scenery from a beautiful beach landscape to a workstation landscape makes you not very excited to go back to the office. Even for those who didn’t travel and chose to stay in Cairo, the laidback mood they got into is kind of hard to let go of and get back to the hustle and bustle of work. To embrace this shift, here are tips to prepare yourself for work tomorrow.

1. Start your day on a cheerful note
Play your favorite music, pick your favorite coffee, and maybe a donut or fresh bakery. Starting the day on good notes, even with the simplest kinds of pleasure, can play a great role in your overall mood throughout the day.

2. Make a list of all the things you need to get done.
Let’s face it, chances are you might have a lot to deal with tomorrow. So, to avoid overwhelming yourself first thing in the morning, make a list of the urgent things you need to get done and prioritize accordingly. In doing so, you will feel less stressed and will have better energy to go through the rest.

3. Start with the small tasks
Like a workout, you will need to warm up first. Diving deep into work after a long break will make you feel loaded. Start first with the smallest task in your priorities. In getting an item off your list, you will feel productive and will get you in the work mood to finish more.

4. Check your calendar for the rest of the week.
Go through all the slots you’ve booked on your calendar before you go on vacation to refresh your memory on things you need to do, meetings you have to attend, etc. When you have a broader vision of the week – especially since the holiday gap was long enough for you to forget important things – you will be able to plan the week better and get on top of the game again.

5. Take breaks in between.
The shift from a chilled and relaxed mood to a full-on hustle is hard, mentally and physically. This is why you need to take very short breaks in between your working day. After every 90 minutes of work, get up and move away from your desk for 5 or 10 minutes. This will make things easier for you and will ease any work pressure if any.
