2024 is just around the corner, and as usual, people will start to take up some New Year’s resolutions whether it is work-related or some personal goals one wishes to achieve. Some of these goals may be related to starting a healthier lifestyle like going on a diet for example and signing up for gym memberships.

On the other hand, some may sign up for months, even a one-year membership, and simply not go, due to many reasons but probably the main obvious one is just lacking the motivation to go.That is a problem a majority may face at some point in their fitness journey and here are some methods that surely will help you find the motive you need.

Set realistic goals
First things first, feeling too giddy and excited that you decide that you won’t miss a day, cutting all carbs is just too unrealistic. Eventually, you’ll feel too burnt out and tired to go again. Take it one step at a time, setting small but achievable realistic goals is crucial to succeed in your fitness journey.

Find a gym buddy
Going to the gym can get lonely sometimes especially if you don’t have a personal trainer. Try finding a close friend or co-worker who has the same goals as you do to encourage each other and achieve your goals positively together. Attending group fitness classes is also a great way to get motivated.

Make your own playlist
Some may underestimate the power of music during workouts, but listening to music can help you function more efficiently and postpone the feeling of fatigue according to a 2010 study. Creating your own killer playlist with all your favorite songs will definitely get you moving

Track your progress
When you start seeing progress in the gym it is important to document your transformation process no matter how slow it is, subtle small changes are always encouraging to stay consistent in going to the gym.

Have a positive mindset
You have to bear this in mind, working out should not be the worst part of your day. Don’t consider it as a daily chore you have to do, but think of it as a way of improving and feeling better about yourself by slowly committing to it.

Remember this, it is never too late to start working out you don’t have to rush it, everyone grows at their own pace. But before you do, always make sure you have done all physical check-ups with your doctor to avoid any future injuries and if you are a newbie it is recommended to start with a personal trainer.
