CNN publishes two reports showcasing two archaeological sites in Egypt

CAIRO - 12 March 2021:Under the title, "Choosing it was no coincidence ... What is the secret of the last resting place for the kings of Egypt?", this first report reviewed the Valley of the Kings in the west bank in Luxor, and its royal tombs with unique and colorful inscriptions.  
 
The second was titled "A Marvel to look at .. Discover the largest quarries in ancient Egypt" for cutting sandstone.
 
The report on the Valley of the Kings talked about the location of the valley and the reason for the ancient Egyptians carving their tombs there to be a royal necropolis for the rulers of the New Kingdom.
 
The report highlighted the tomb of King Tutankhamun, discovered in the 1920s, in addition to other tombs of great kings such as Ramses IV, the ninth, the third, the fifth, and the sixth.
 
The report included pictures taken by the photographer Evan Henares, who has been documenting his travels with a camera for nearly 16 years.  
 
 
He filmed the tombs of the Valley of the Kings and considered it a landmark of human civilization, as he indicated that the Valley of the Kings contains prominent examples of ancient Egyptian tombs.
 
 In the second report on the quarries used in ancient Egypt to cut sandstone, the author said that the Jabal al-Silsila area is a very rich sandstone quarries, extending on both sides of the Nile River for about two kilometers.
 
He added that sandstone was used in the construction of the facilities of the New Kingdom, with its temples and statues in Luxor and Karnak, as well as the temples of the Greco-Roman period.
 
The report included pictures taken by the British photographer Paul Fenton, who has been traveling all over since 1998 to discover hidden gems in Egypt, which are not usually visited by tourists.
 
 
He indicated that Egypt is full of wonderful historical sites,not known for the public.
 
The British photographer Paul Fenton described the mountain quarry , its location on the banks of the Nile, as a miracle to look at.
 
 
He said that it looks like an ancient monument in itself with its unique sculptures, indicating that the importance of the chain site is that it gives an insight into the work culture in the life of the ancient Egyptian.
 
 
He added that this site was not just a quarry, and that much of it can still be seen on the East Bank.
