Egypt’s Min. of Culture to celebrate 64th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations with China

CAIRO – 18 June 2020: The Ministry of Culture, represented by the Egyptian Opera House, in cooperation with the Chinese Embassy and the Chinese Cultural Center in Cairo, is conducting a joint musical concert.

The concert will be performed by the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, led by maestro Ahmed el-Saeedi and the Liaoning Chinese Symphony Orchestra led by maestro Sun Pota.

The concert will be broadcast on the Ministry of Culture’s official YouTube channel on June 20 at 3 p.m., in conjunction with being broadcast on various social media platforms in China.

The concert aims to emphasize the depth of relations between Egypt and China, and to celebrate the 64th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem said that the concert comes as part of the dialogue of cultures, and that the soft powers in all its forms continue their success to overcome barriers and make creative communication between people of all nations.

Abdel Dayem further stated that the concert unites two of the greatest civilizations in the history of humanity, stressing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Egypt and China in various fields of development.

Furthermore, the Chinese ambassador to Egypt said that the diplomatic relations between Egypt and China will remain strong, no matter what the situation on the international scene is.

The concert’s program includes a collection of Egyptian, Chinese and international music compositions. The concert is preceded by a documentary film that addresses the close ties between Egypt and China and includes rare scenes to be broadcast for the first time.
