CAIRO - 23 December 2019: The National Authority for Civilization Coordination, headed by Mohamed Abu Saada, announced the project representing Egypt at the open architectural competition of the 17th edition of Venice International Biennale of Architecture.

The competition officially will launch on May 26, 2020 and will run until November 29, 2020.

The project representing Egypt in the architectural biennale is presented by Mostafa Rabie Abdel Baset (Team Leader), with the participation of Riyad al-Halabi, Amr Ahmed Allam and Ahmed Essam Saad.

Abu Saada explained that a certificate of appreciation was awarded for the distinguished project submitted by Laila Amr Badawi, Alaa Ibrahim, Nada Sameh, Lubna Ahmed, Nuran Mohsen, Hazem Matar, and Nouran el-Watedi.

Encouragement certificates were also awarded to six distinguished projects submitted by Salahuddin Ismail and his team, Ahmed Abu Bakr and his team, Ola Ahmed and her team, Muhammad Hassan Ali and his team, Muhammad Shukri el-Khouli and his team, Bilal Muhammad el-Samman and his team.

This was based on the recommendation of the jury composed of Basel Kamel, professor of Architecture - Faculty of Science and Engineering at the American University in Cairo; Alia Abdel Hady, professor of Interior Architecture and the Faculty of Fine Arts at Helwan University; Sherif Mohamed el-Fiqi, professor of Architecture; Ali Gabr, professor of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering at Cairo University, among others.

It is worth noting that this course bears the idea of designing and implementing an architectural project that fulfills the theme of the exhibition for the 2020 session, which is "How will we live together?"
