CAIRO – 15 June 2017: Artist Fred Fordham will be turning Lee Harper’s prominent novel “To Kill a Mocking Bird” into a graphic novel version that will launch in 2018, according to a report by The Bookseller on June 6.

The Pulitzer-award winning novel was published in 1960 and revolves around racial disputes in the Deep South. and was translated to over 40 languages according to the book’s publisher Jason Arthur.

The book still sells over one million copies worldwide every year. The graphic novelization will provide a new way for readers to enjoy this classic.

The Estate of Harper Lee is pleased to collaborate with Fordham, whose quality of work “surpasses time,” as described by the spokesman, who added that the novel will be brought to life in a new way.

Fordham, a former portrait painter and muralist, has stated that he is excited to give life to a long-form visual medium, the statement quoted. Fordham is known for creating Philip Pullman’s debut graphic novel the ‘Adventures of John Blake’ last month.
