CAIRO – 4 February 2019: The General Egyptian Book Organization held a ceremony for the Cairo International Book Fair awards on Feb. 4 at 2 p.m.

The ceremony is held at Al-Manara International Conference Center in the presence of Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem and Haitham el-Hag, head of the General Egyptian Book Organization.

The General Egyptian Book Organization will grant the awards for the best books published in 2018 in the following categories: novel, short story, classical poetry, slang poetry, theater, literary criticism, human sciences, arts, children books, scientific books, digital sciences.

The prize for the previously mentioned categories totals up to LE 10,000.

The GEBO will also grant special prizes, in cooperation with a number of entities affiliated with the Ministry of Culture.

The prizes fall into the following categories: first book award, heritage award, best translation, best translated book for children and the best publisher award.
