CAIRO – 25 October 2018: The Bibliotheca Alexandrina will issue its first Italian publication in 2019, and the first knowledge embassy of the bibliotheca will be inaugurated in Europe in cooperation with the Catholic University in Milan, Italy.

This announcement was made by Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Mostafa el-Feki, during the inauguration of the “Rimini” exhibition at Al-Sanari House in Cairo, Egypt.

Feki remarked that the Bibliotheca Alexandrina will issue its first Italian publication to mark the 40th anniversary of the exhibition.

He stressed that the Bibliotheca Alexandrina began to gather book collections of the most important writers in Italy, expressing his happiness with the fruitful cooperation between the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Italian Cultural Center in Rome.

Emilia Guarnieri, president of the Rimini Meeting for the Friendship Amongst Peoples Foundation, thanked the Bibliotheca Alexandrina for its keenness on boosting culture exchange between the two countries through cooperating with the Rimini exhibition, which is held annually in Italy.

Within the framework of Egyptian-Italian efforts to promote cultural and diplomatic relations, Italian-Egyptian cultural events were organized in July at Rome and Viterbo, Italy, by the Benedetti Cultural Foundation, one of the largest foundations supporting culture and arts in Italy since 1899.

The opening ceremony, held in Viterbo on June 23 and 24, included Pharaonic shows presented by a ballet band of the Cairo Opera House.
