CAIRO – 3 June 2018: Famed Syrian singer Assala Nasri will perform a ladies only concert for the first time in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Wednesday June 20.

The kingdom which is witnessing now surpassing cultural openness will also host a ladies only concert for renowned Egyptian singer Sherine Abdel Wahab for the first time in Saudi Arabia at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah on Tuesday June 19.

The Syrian singer who was born on May 15, 1969 is one of the most popular singers in the Arab world and the daughter of late Syrian artist Mustafa Nasri.

Nasri is famous for her strong, melodious voice. Her commercial musical career started in 1991 with an album that held four songs. In 1993, she became famous after releasing her album “Law Te3rafo” (If You Know).

Since the beginning of the Syrian Civil war in 2011, Nasri has supported the Syrian rebels and strongly opposed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Nasri released numerous successful songs throughout her career, such as “Ya Magnoon” (Oh Madman), “Shakhsya Aneeda” (Stubborn Character), and “Tasawar” (Imagine) among others.

Nasri previously won the Best Arab Singer award from Dear Guest Awards in November 2017. She received the award on her latest album “Mohtama bel Tafaseel” (Concerned with Details) released in 2017. Nasri is married to famous Egyptian director and producer Tarek el Erian.
