CAIRO – 23 December 2017: “Hepta: The Last Lecture” movie will launch during the Toronto Arab Film kicking off on February 1, 2018.

“Hepta” is based on the bestselling novel “Hepta” written by the Egyptian novelist Mohamed Sadek and adapted for the screen by Wael Hamdy.

“Hepta” is a Greek word that means seven, as the novel traces the seven stages of love: the start, the encounter, the love bond, the wakefulness, the reality, the decision-making, and, finally, the end. The movie tackles four different love stories that host the seven stages.

Despite the repetition of situations and stories in life, everyone still makes the same mistakes, repeats the same events and suffers the same pain. During a six-hour lecture, Osama, the lecturer, takes us through these four cases. During the movie, one often find themselves relating to the characters.

The movie succeeded to win people’s hearts and also generate high revenues, surpassing LE 27 million. The film stars a number of renowned Egyptian actors, including Maged El-Kedwany, Ahmed Malek, Ahmed Dawood, Dina El-Sherbiny, Yasmine Raeis, Jamila Awad, Amr Youssef, Hany Adel, Ahmed Bedeir, and Salwa Mohamed Aly, among others. “Hepta” is directed by Hadi El Bagoury.

El-Kedwany won the Best Supporting Actor award and Hamdy was awarded the Best Screenplay award at the Cairo National Festival for Egyptian Cinema in 2017.
