CAIRO – 22 November 2017: Egyptian cover band ‘Crash Boom Bang’ is scheduled to perform at the Institut français d'Egypte à Alexandrie‎ (French Institute in Alexandria) on December 4.Popular in the Cairo music scene, the multi-genre band plays music covers of the 1970s-1990s.

The group frequents the Cairo Jazz Club where they often perform old hits while dressed in humorously unrelated costumes. Crash Boom Bang boasts unique set-lists that deviate from the traditionally covered American classics. The groups also tend to feature a distinctive theme for each performance.

As an extension of the French Embassy’s services, the activities of the Francais D’Egypte (French Institute of Egypt) include band performances and other cultural events to promote cultural co-operation between France and Egypt.

This year across its bases in Cairo’s Heliopolis and Mounira and its original Alexandria base, the institute has previously hosted various performances including the ‘Al Nour Wal Amal’ (Light and Hope) orchestra for blind women, the France-based Egyptian duo Tarek Abdallah and Adel Shams el Din, and Jérôme Ettinger, the composer and founder of the Sufi band ‘Egyptian Project’.
