CAIRO – 1 October 2017: The Egyptian director, Nadia Kamel, participated in “Hakaya El Ganoub” [Tales from the South] workshop at the Jesuit Film Festival in Aswan on Saturday.

The workshop tackles the techniques of making short documentaries. The workshop was directed by director and producer Hala Galal.

Through the workshop, Kamel spoke about her recent documentary film, “Salata Balady” [Egyptian Salad], which was released in 2007.

It narrates the story of a grandmother and her grandson that witness radical changes in Egyptian society.

The film documents the grandmother narrating her family tales to her grandson, dating100 years back.
