CAIRO – 20 August 2017: The Egyptian classic Arabic music band El Khan will perform live at El-Sawy Culture wheel on August 26.

El Khan was formed in 2014, with the aim to reintroduce the Egyptian classical pieces in a modern form.

Creating a place to combine the classic heritage with the modern touches led to the band being named ‘El Khan.’ ‘El Khan’ means The Place or the Shop in the classic Arabic language.

It consists of ten musicians and ten vocalists. The employed instruments are oud, tabla, bass, keyboard, and violin.

Formed by Fady al-Maghreby, El Khan participated live in a number of TV shows, cultural seminars and The Fourth edition of Alexandria International Book Fair.
The band has also performed at El Sawy Culture Wheel last month.
‘Ala Hesb Wedad,’ ‘Touba,’ and other classic pieces will be performed in the concert.
