CAIRO – 19 August 2017: Renowned Egyptian author Mahfouz AbdulRahman has passed away at 76 years of age on Saturday.

The established author was moved to a hospital two weeks ago after suffering a sudden brain stroke. The writer’s funeral will be held on Monday, according to statement by his Egyptian wife Samira Abdel Aziz.

The famous drama scenarist is well known for writing scenarios for famous TV series for such as Bawbet El Halawany, Antra, Soliman El Halaby, and Om Kalthoum, Leilt Sekot Granda (The Night Granda Fell)

The well known writer has written in many newspapers including state-owned newspapers and has published a unique collection of literary works including El Maghol (The Unknown) and Arba’a Fesol El Sheta’a (Four Seasons of Winter). He has also written a cinema script for a movie called El Kadesya (The Sanctity).
