CAIRO – 7 August 2017: The fifth edition of the UAE's Vantage Point Sharjah exhibition opened on August 5, providing viewers a chance to explore life in the UAE through exhibited photographs.

Originally focused on Sharjah in the Emirates, the exhibition has expanded since its establishment to encompass other regions of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and has helped to attract a wider audience.

This year received 454 entries submitted, with 174 photographs by 63 participants getting through after review.

This edition's theme is on 'Architecture and Urban Landscape', while the first edition of the Vantage Point Sharjah had a different focus and titled ' Life and Landscapes of Sharjah'.

The ultimate goal of the exhibition is to provide a place for professionals, amateurs and audiences to freely explore art and photography without fear of the intimidating environments present with most contemporary art museums.

The exhibition is hosted annually, and began on 2013 from September 7 to December 7.
