CAIRO – 7 August 2017: Egyptian singer and actor Tamer Hosny headed to Los Angelos, USA, on Sunday, August 7, to have his handprint and footprint permanently engraved on the Forecourt of the Stars at Hollywood's iconic Chinese Theatre, which will occur on August 9.

Hosny's film “Tesbah Ala Kheir” (Good Night) will be screened in the Chinese theatre, Hollywood, after which he will have his hand and footprints engraved at the Forecourt, giving him the honor to be the first Arab actor to have his prints next to Hollywood’s stars.

The Chinese theatre was opened on May 18, 1927 in Hollywood Boulevard, built by the American showman Sid Grauman. Grauman also built the Million Dollar Theatre in downtown Los Angeles and the lavish Egyptian Theatre a few blocks from Chinese theatre. The TCL Chinese Theatre is the most iconic movie palace in the world with over 50 events a year including movie premieres, imprint ceremonies, and film festivals, marking Hollywood history every day.

Poets and film director under the supervision of Chinese artisans could make many masterpieces in the work area that eventually became the Forecourt of the Stars. The theatre also includes lots of curved wall and Ten-foot tall lotus-shaped fountains where Hollywood’s stars set their prints on it during the imprint ceremonies.

Hollywood’s stars whose works were screened in Chinese theatre are invited to join the exclusive society known as the Forecourt of the Stars such as Marilyn Monroe, George Clooney, Betty Grable, Jimmy Durante, Sid Grauman and Michael Jackson.

The Imprint ceremony is a timeless tradition that ensures Hollywood stars can make a mark on not only Los Angeles, but the whole world.
