CAIRO – 31 July 2017: Syrian video collective 'Abounaddara' has taken down the vast majority of their videos to protest what they deem has been an improper usage of their content by an Italian art museum.

The group learned that their videos had been part of an exhibition by the La Triennale, despite turning down requests to participate last year. After requesting the pieces be taken down and not getting what they wanted, ‘Abounaddara’ had no other choice to take down 400 of their videos, spanning back to 2011, off their Vimeo page as protest.

Though the videos were since removed on Wednesday, July 26, Abounaddara has not reuploaded them.
