Acclaimed Egyptian director Yousry Nasrallah to head the short film competition jury of the 5th edition of MEDFEST-Egypt.

Founders of MEDFEST-Egypt, Mina El Naggar and Khalid Ali, announced selecting director Yousry Nasrallah as the Head of Jury Members for the Short Film competition within the fifth edition of the forum.
 
The jury members include producer Muhammad Taymour, actress/writer Tharaa Goubail, and Manal Al Swaisy, director of Festival International de Films de Femmes (Regards De Femmes) in Tunisia.
 
MEDFEST-Egypt is scheduled to take place in September 2023.
 
Most recently, MEDFEST-Egypt has announced the extension of the submission period for short films about the theme ‘stigmatization’.
 
There is no specific production year requirement, and filmmakers can submit their films for the upcoming edition of the festival until June 14 th .
 
MEDFEST-Egypt is a touring international short film forum that explores the human condition, from a well-being and health perspective It is the first of its kind in the MENA region.
 
Founded in 2017 by Dr. Mina El Naggar and Dr. Khalid Ali, MEDFEST-Egypt is bridging the gap between films, medicine and Art. Bringing the artistic and the educational experience of MEDFEST- Egypt far beyond film screenings, the festival puts together ideas and insights from different groups of healthcare professionals, filmmakers and the general public, in workshops directed towards healthcare awareness and filmmaking.
 
The objective of the parallel program is to add more space for interaction and reflections based on the topics tackled in the film selection.
 
In May, MEDFEST-Egypt collaborated with the Rakhway Institute for Training and Research to organize the first mental health, arts, and media conference entitled “Debate, Educate and Upgrade”.
